We've made a big change to how Medly works. Starting today, Medly is free to use every day. No trial. No expiry. No credit card. Just sign up and start studying.

What We Changed

We've scrapped the 3-day free trial. It was never a model we loved, three days is not enough time to build a study habit, and we didn't like the idea of students losing access right when they were getting started.

Instead, everyone now gets limited but free daily usage of Medly, every single day. You'll hit a daily cap on interactive practice and AI feedback at some point, but you come back the next day and it resets. We'd rather you use Medly a little bit every day than lose access after three days.

Textbooks and Learn Mode Are Now Completely Free

This is the other half of the change, and arguably the bigger one for a lot of students.

All of Learn Mode and the Textbooks are now completely free with no limits. No daily cap. No restrictions. We've made all static content fully free, forever.

The limits only apply to AI-powered features, things like interactive practice, AI marking, and the AI tutor. Those cost us real money every time you use them, which is why there's a daily cap on those. But the static material itself, the textbooks, the lesson content in Learn Mode — is yours whenever you want it.

Why Freemium

The simple answer is that we think it's better for students.

The 3-day trial created a cliff. You'd sign up, use Medly intensively for a few days, and then either pay or lose access entirely. That's not how good studying works. The research is clear: consistent, spaced practice over time is far more effective than cramming everything into a short window.

With the freemium model, every student can use Medly as part of their daily routine. Even if you never upgrade to a paid plan, you still get meaningful value, full access to all the textbook content and Learn Mode lessons, plus a daily allowance of AI-powered practice and feedback.

For students who want unlimited access to the AI features, the paid plans are still there. But the free tier is now genuinely useful on its own, not just a preview.

What This Means for You

• New users: Sign up at app.medlyai.com and start using Medly immediately. No credit card needed. You'll get free daily access to everything, with the AI features subject to a daily cap.
• Existing free users: If your trial had expired, your account is now active again with the new daily free usage. Just log back in.
• Paid subscribers: Nothing changes for you. You still get unlimited access to everything.

The Details

We'll keep iterating on the exact limits based on usage patterns and feedback, but the principle stays the same: every student gets meaningful free access, every day, forever.
