Medly is an AI-powered learning platform used by thousands of students across the UK. Starting today, we're committing a portion of our revenue to environmental causes — and letting our users decide exactly where that money goes.
Why Sustainability Matters to an AI Company
AI companies have a responsibility to think about their environmental impact. Large language models and AI infrastructure consume significant energy, and we believe the companies building these tools should be part of the solution, not just the problem.
That's why we're launching Medly Mend — an ongoing initiative to fund environmental projects chosen directly by our community of students and educators.
We're not offsetting carbon to tick a box. We're putting real money behind real initiatives and giving our users the power to direct it.
How Our Community-Led Environmental Funding Works
- We shortlist credible initiatives — We've selected a range of vetted environmental projects across key areas: reforestation and tree planting, ocean and marine cleanup, renewable energy development, biodiversity and wildlife conservation, and climate education programmes.
- Our users vote — Every Medly user can review the shortlisted initiatives and vote for the ones that matter most to them. You can support more than one cause.
- We fund the winners — The initiatives with the most votes receive funding.

We're a company built by and for students. Climate change is the defining issue for this generation, and we think any company — especially one serving young people — should be actively contributing to environmental solutions.
